Welcome to the markscarlson.com image galleries. It is my pleasure to share with you my love of nature through my visual art. The portfolios I present here represent my personal style and the type of subject matter I enjoy photographing.
I've recorded images of our natural environment as a naturalist/photographer for nearly 30-years now. I've been 'green' long before it was fashionable and personally aware of 'climate change' for decades. My intention as a naturalist/photographer has always been to convey my sincere appreciation for the art of nature to the viewer. One of the advantages of being a naturalist is having a better understanding and awareness of flora & fauna subject matter. Being a photographer, I'm able to share distinctive image collections like my Trilliums of Michigan Gallery, which showcases all eight species native to the Great Lakes State. My Native Orchids and Wildflowers Galleries not only offer some of the more unique species found in my locality, but present some of them in white form version as well. From Sleeping Bear Dunes to Isle Royale, I've visually explored and recorded the Great Lakes region shore to shore. These image galleries represent just some of the topics and subject matter I have available.
